Wieden+Kennedy was established in 1982, when two guys quit their day jobs to follow a client that made running shoes with a waffle iron. Dan Wieden likes to say that when we started, no one in their right mind wanted to come to this weird little city on the banks of the Willamette River. That’s been a driving force in shaping who we are as an agency today. And thankfully it’s gotten easier to convince people to come to our little corner of the Pacific Northwest.
